Claudia Maria has posed for me several times. I’ve always been struck by her determination and the pride in her eyes. We’d been wanting to meet for months, and we finally managed to do so. We had arranged to meet at the Cittadella, where—unbeknownst to us—there was a carnival, which added an ’80s “County Fair Midway” vibe! It was my first chance to use a Rolleiflex SL 35, which I’d recently bought on eBay. Thank you, Claudia, for being (as always!) a model who rose to the occasion!
