Emi [Parma, 2016]

Emi was a tiny bunch of love who already had clear ideas, and that included staying in her mom’s arms as long as possible! The studio experience, at first, is intimidating for babies, who need to be reassured (mostly because of the lighting, the flashlight and the backdrop) and made them to feel as comfortable as possible. During this short session everything went smoothly and Emi revealed herself as a beautiful, expressive princess! Thank you Tomomi for trusting my photographic capabilities!

Family portrait session [Parma, 2016]

I like to stay in touch with people over the years. I have known Caterina since we were teenagers and we were also in the same class at high school. It has been a pleasure, and yet it is, to see her family grow and to witness it with my camera! Her children are both beautiful and healthy. Zeno’s distinctive feature was, at that time, to be super lively and a fun-seeker, whilst Zoe hit me for her tender clam and sweetness. Enjoy these memories!

Yukari [Parma, 2016]

I was lucky enough to have the chance to work in Parma for members of the Japanese community whose family was part of. On this occasion I took some portraits of this lovely in a park. Slightly shy at the beginning, during the course of our photo session Yukari discovered the taste of posing as a model and, at the end, she was clearly mastering it and was all smiles and self-confidence!

Momma’s whisperer!

Ami [Parma, 2016]

I was still in the addictive phase of studio portraits, planned carefully at the desk prior to the shooting + dark backdrop (which seems to me now a lifetime ago|). I just can add that I was delighted to photograph Ami in typical Japanese clothes, getting the chance to capture her curiosity, her bursting enthusiasm and her glee!

Twice as nice [Parma, 2015]

“Twins are like a two-for-one deal on mischief. Double the giggles, double the trouble” – Unknown

This was the second photographic round for this duo in the studio. They had recently turned one year old and they were bolder. At the beginning they were not afraid but just really silent and a bit intimidated by the environment and the lights. However, after a few minutes of hesitation (in which they carefully studied the pros & cons of the place), they accepted to give up their dummies and, along with a sequence of compliments and encouragement, they started to feel comfortable and then to play!

Adele & Cloe in The Old West [Parma, 2015]

I love taking pictures of Adele & Cloe (who are now teenagers!) since when they were little. I felt that by observing them, they would teach me something. They were bright, bursting with energy (like any healthy child) and they actually displayed different personalities but with commonalities. I believe that they have both enjoyed posing in front of my lens, of course with the presence of their mom Alice. On this occasion the “serious part” of the photo-shoot got a little out of hand and we ended up playing The Old West. They did great by holding the scene and, despite the obvious laughs, they really put themselves in the role!

Davide, Diletta & Arianna (in the bump) [Parma, 2015]

Diletta was due to give birth to Arianna three weeks later (that’s exactly what happened!). She was in splendid shape: she had just put on a her baby bump! We met in the green area surrounding Cittadella on a July late afternoon. It was hot and humid and we were equipped with mosquito spray to last an hour out there 😆The glow of that evening was close to perfection and it was a pleasure to witness and capture the spontaneity and simplicity of Dilly & Davide’s love. Enjoy these beautiful photo memories!

Isabel [Parma, 2015]

“A baby is God’s opinion that the world should go on” – Carl Sandburg

I was delighted to have a photo session with this close family. Isabel was really active, she would not sleep: she knew that something unusual was happening around her and she wanted to be up to it! I could already tell that she would have developed a trustworthy, easy relationship with her mum. And she was obviously her dad’s girl!

Melissa [Parma, 2015]

Taking pictures of babies in the studio can be difficult. You can nor predict know how they will react, whether they will be relaxed or a little tense, in the mood to play or hungry or tired. This photo shoot was not exactly an easy walk, even though I don’t recall that Melissa (who was 5 months old at the time and has beautiful big, dark eyes) cried, in fact she lasted in a tulle veil for several minutes! Enjoy this beautiful memories!

Nathan [Borgo Val di Taro, 2015]

Nathan is the son of friends, he was only 60 days old when these picture were taken. He was incredibly expressive and was making grimaces as a real, little actor, showing off a determined character! I am not exactly a “newborn babies person type” and have very small experience of them but I was positively impressed by the fact that this small person already showed his own personality. I have rarely seen this kind of expression, that led me to imagine a curios and strong attitude more like an adult!
