“I will spend the rest of my life assembling my own mind and my own soul. I will take care of my body carefully, not that it may any more please a man, but because it houses me and therefore I am dependent upon it” – Pearl Buck
I am thrilled to “undust” from my digital archives and to share on the blog some portraits of gorgeous Viviana, taken in April 2014 in Marore. Enjoy these memories!
Alessandra and Lorenzo tied the knot in June 2013. I was not the official photographer and this allowed me to combine the useful with the enjoyable, stress-free! I have known Alessandra since she was a toddler, as our parents were friends and we took several holidays together. On their big day all worked well: it was sunny but not too hot, Alessandra was simply breathtaking in her gown (future brides, she chose it at the Atelier Emé in Mantua!), the flowers and the decorations plus, there was an extra surprise at the church entrance (with an unexpected bride)! The choir in the church, the venue with its fancy restaurant.…It was indeed a day of love and friendship. Alessandra & Lorenzo, re-enjoy your photo memories!
For those who don’t know, I have a green thumb and I have always liked flowers and plants. Also, I am a nature-wanderer. Back at that time, I was experiencing a photography phase where holding the camera in my hands and browsing around looking for something cute to immortalize would make me content. I didn’t really feel the need to have who-knows-what kind of subjects to capture. My life and my photography were more basic and simple. Enjoy those delicate images!
Verona puts finely together history, elegance and romance. It was indeed a romantic, misty but warmish week-end of late November that I had the chance to spend in such a beautiful location. Enjoy these photo memories!
I took care of this little girl in 2009 when she was not even 2 years old. She was tiny but proudly independent and such an inquisitive observer. She is now a tall, beautiful teenager. This was my first and only experience as Au Pair girl in Germany and definitely it was a positive one. I had never taken care before of babies or toddlers and, of course, it was engaging but also extremely rewarding by being allowed to admire her day to day progress. We shared a compulsive passion for drawing and I havr to thank her for bearing with me through my basic German language! We stayed in touch and they came to visit me in Parma in 2012, when I took the following shots of them.
I met Anne in 2009, during a Master’s course in Poitiers. We have stayed in touch ever since. She can be loquacious, she is cute, she has a stature of a tiny ballerina but she has a big personality. I have always admired her fearless, relentless vitality. She is a blue-eyed babe who has two babies now! She came to Parma to visit me in 2012, and we organised a portrait session in the city center (with Parma’s glorious summer sky, at its best) where she captured my attention with her meaningful expressions. I know that I shouldn’t say that (Malraux ladies!) but I I have a soft spot for her!

My favorite shots below, I don’t mind if they are blurry!

The fact of having known a friend for your whole life, makes it easier to take a few shots while she’s getting ready for her big day…This is quite uncommon, being among the guests and, at the same time, having the privilege of taking photos but it is so cool! Diletta and Davide got married on a sunny Sunday, 26/06/2011, which passed into our friends history book as a beautiful day, under the flags of friendship & love!
