Elena seen by Michele Galloni [Parma, 2019]

In April 2019, I posed in front of the camera of a my friend and talented photographer, Michele Galloni in his studio. Back then, the most challenging and tumultuous time of my life had begun. Looking at these images now, these shots make me smile, as I relive my unawareness and somewhat naivety. Thank you, Michele, for these memories and long live to photography as a medium that won’t let us forget what we have been going though and achieved!

Portraits serie in Galloni photo studio [Parma, 2014]

The change from photographing someone to being photographed as a model can be quick! Here I am, in these fancy pictures dated September 2014, taken by photographers Michele & Luciano Galloni. The difficult point for me it’s not choosing the smart outfit or having the hair in order as…showing up with a smile on my face, being convinced that I will make it! However, as they say: “It is hard, until it’s not!”, you just have to lean into it. Thanks, Michele, for these classy and sharp photos ❤️

Portraits serie by Galloni photo studio [Parma, 2014]

When I was young 😁 and started taking pictures, my core beliefs were: natural light and prime lenses. “Growing up”, throughout the years, taking tons of pictures of several subjects but also posing as a model, I started to see things differently. I discovered that I love working in studio 😙 I realised consequently how essential it is to know how to use lighting indoors, the importance of leading the subject(s) (gaining the subject’s trust) and of having developed a posing system.

I have gained so much from watching other professionals work, such as in this case Luciano and Michele Galloni, well known photographers based in Parma. Their experience level and use and of lighting was masterful, as well as their posing system. The first part of the shoot (dated February 2014) was corporate whilst the second part was pure portraiture. I had this blue jumpsuit (which I still have) that is one of my favorite clothes and I hoped to get some nice portraits. Result achieved: they came out real classy!
