Sara is a muse. It comes natural to take portraits of her, even if only focusing on her hair.

Ilaria may look somewhat intimidating and has a maverick side. As a further piede of information, I can add that she has a heart of gold and that she is a reliable, outspoken person who is not afraid to reveal herself in front of the camera. Thank you, Ilaria, for putting yourself out there!

“It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter”– Alfred Eisenstaedt

I love taking pictures of Adele & Cloe (who are now teenagers!) since when they were little. I felt that by observing them, they would teach me something. They were bright, bursting with energy (like any healthy child) and they actually displayed different personalities but with commonalities. I believe that they have both enjoyed posing in front of my lens, of course with the presence of their mom Alice. On this occasion the “serious part” of the photo-shoot got a little out of hand and we ended up playing The Old West. They did great by holding the scene and, despite the obvious laughs, they really put themselves in the role!

“I bury my head in the pillow, and dream of my true love…
I am rowing to you on the great, dark ocean” – Caravaggio
Maria introduced me to her friend Lorenzo who was an approachable and sensitive person with an artistic side. At the time I was a “black backdrop-addict” (I liked the sense of mystery, inevitability, and of contrast that it would give off). Don’t ask me how I connected Lorenzo to Caravaggio (When they say: “Dream big!” But, perhaps, it was for the intensity of his gaze and personality), so I organized a shoot trying to emulate Caravaggesque overtones. The main themes were silent movement and psychological introspection. Thank you, Lorenzo, for posing for me!

The idea behind Philip’s photo shoot was: gentleman getting ready to go to out. Filippo has a dandy side to him, plus I loved his mustache!Filippo has a dandy side to him, plus, I loved his mustache! My only regret is having chosen the dark backdrop. Enjoy this photo memory and thank you, Filippo, for posing for me!

I took these portraits of Maria in the green area surrounding La Cittadella. She is a unique, delicate and brilliant soul (bordering on genius). During this session, she seemed to me an actress of the 50s. Also, we had fun working together (the feeling was of playing a game)!

A few facts that I would like to share about this photo shoot:
Enjoy these well studied shots that represent a loving memory for myself and our family. Granny, now that you’re in heaven, thanks for having been a star!

I have known Margaret since she was a baby. This portrait of her is from a session of 2015, when she was 13 years old. Adolescence is an dense, disruptively brief and confusing period in our lives even though this time didn’t really upset her, as she always has had a peace loving nature and you can see it in her eyes (but hey, don’t forget that this tough cookie knows what she wants)!

“Fall in love with someone who tastes like adventure but looks like the calm, beautiful morning after a terrible storm” – Nikita Gill

I met Valentina at my friend Diletta’s wedding, in 2011: she was the bridal make-up artist. Since then we have collaborated on some photo shoots and, eventually, I took some portraits of her who had fiercely and superbly done her own make-up! We met on a hot, humid August morning in a green area in town and, if I remember correctly, our theme was to represent the intense role of an actress from a Greek tragedy. Enjoy those epic shots!

“Our soul mate is the one who makes life come to life” – Richard Bach

Laura is a muse. She strikes in her refined, elegant and discreet beauty. We took this portraits serie in the garden of the Camera di San Paolo in a hot summer morning. Let’s state that the theme we started with was..elegance of a dame, but then we moved on to an interpretation of Marie Antoinette! Enjoy these photos that I cherish!

I had a bizarre idea which became a peculiar photo shoot. I have a skinny cousin (who is perfectly healthy), and I would say he is carved in his body. The week before I had paid a visit to the Cathedral where I had seen the Deposition from the cross by Benedetto Antelami (dated 1178 AD). I merged ancient sacred art with photography by connecting them. I asked my cousin to pose for me and guess what he said…

I remember vividly the morning (the early morning, it was around 7 am!) I found out about the publication of my 1st image on PhotoVogue: it was a whirlwind of emotions! It didn’t seem real to me: I was looking for it, I was hoping for it, I cared for it but I didn’t count on it. I froze in front of my laptop and felt a sense of happiness, possibly I even felt like crying. I sent a text message to my friend Francesca who replied immediately congratulating me then, I paused.
